REVEREND JIM EGBERS, PASTOR

Fr. Jim Egbers is a native of Campbell County and received his early education at St. Therese School in Southgate. He is a graduate of the Covington Latin School ('64), Xavier University ('68, HAB) and Sacred Heart School of Theology ('96, MDiv). Following service as an infantryman in the U.S. Army with a tour of duty in Vietnam, Fr. Egbers served as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation from 1971 until 1989 with assignments in San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Miami and Newark where he was the Assistant Special Agent in Charge. Fr. Egbers began his study for the priesthood for the Diocese of Covington in 1992 and was ordained in 1996. He has served as parochial vicar at St. Joseph (Cold Spring) and St. Mary (Alexandria) and as pastor at St. Catherine of Siena (Ft. Thomas) before returning to St. Mary Parish (Alexandria) as pastor in July, 2004.

 


SR. M. RENEE NIENABER, S.N.D.

Sister Renee taught in our school from 1976-78. After twenty years teaching junior and senior high and seven years as a D.R.E. at a parish in Cincinnati Sister Renee returned to St. Mary Parish as Director of Religious Education in 1993. In the summer of 2000, Sister finished a degree at Creighton University (Omaha) with a Master's Degree in Christian Spirituality with a certificate in spiritual direction and retreat giving.

Sister's responsibilities in our parish include R.C.I.A., Adult Education, and sacramental programs for those in grade school. She also oversees those in charge of many programs in the parish, such as Christ Renews His Parish, Wednesday Evening Religious Education, Pre-school, Youth Ministry, Children's Liturgy of the Word, M.O.M.S., etc. This is a ministry that is both busy and fulfilling. Sister says that the wonderful people at St. Mary Parish make it all worthwhile.


SR. GERTRUDE ANN KNIPPER, C.D.P

Sister is a member of the Congregation of Divine Providence at St. Anne Convent, Melbourne, KY.

For twenty-two years in five different dioceses, Sister Gertrude ministered in elementary schools as a teacher and administrator. A year of study at Notre Dame University prepared her for parish ministry. From 1989-2003, she was full time pastoral associate in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati.

In the summer of 2003, Sister Gertrude joined the staff at St. Mary's to visit and communicate with the sick, and the elderly. Sister coordinates the ministry of the Eucharistic Ministers to the Homebound and those in Nursing Facilities. She facilitates a spiritual formation program for seniors, the Sagers, who meet monthly. Sister Gertrude considers it a privilege to minister to those of her generation and has found a warm welcome among the good people of St. Mary's Parish.


LAURIE MARZULLO

Laurie initially began working for our parish in August of 1993 as “the lunch ticket lady” for our school cafeteria. In 1996 she was hired in the parish office as a part time secretary. Laurie now works full time, combining the jobs of school finance officer, in charge of tuition collection, and parish secretary. She has been a member of St. Mary Parish since 1986.


JIM WOLFE

Jim has worked at St. Mary Parish since the fall of 1992. He plans and oversees the music for all parish liturgies. Jim enjoys his work at St. Mary and says the participation and support from the congregation is his primary source of motivation. He is also thankful for the many talented and dedicated parishioners who are involved with the music program. Jim has learned a great deal about liturgical music since he first started here and has enjoyed watching the music program grow and flourish over the years. Jim also works part-time at Bishop Brossart High School and at St. Mary's Cathedral. Jim is married to Angie Gubser and they have two children, Anna and Jacob.
